This programme provides students with the knowledge and skills appropriate to careers in the banking, financial and corporate sectors. Graduates can work as financial investors, stock brokers, commercial banking and corporate finance.
The Vocational Master in Banking and Finance will enable students to acquire the knowledge necessary to professionally manage and advise on assets of any amount. The course is aimed at both professionals in the financial sector and graduates without experience wanting to work in: banking and financial markets; asset portfolio management; investment consultation.
The course is structured in three terms.
First term (October-December)
Pre-courses in mathematics and statistics and English for business.
Second term (January-July) students will attend 8 core courses:
1. Advanced mathematics for economics and finance
2. Econometrics for finance
3. Corporate finance
4. Investment management
5. Applied financial econometrics
6. Banking regulation
7. Macro-Finance
8. Asset and risk management
At the end of each module, students will sit a written examination.
Third term (August-September)
Students will prepare their final dissertation under the supervision of an academic staff member. In addition, they will be required to take an internship either in a bank or financial company or insurance company
Students should hold at least a three-year undergraduate degree in any subject.
B1 in the European Common Framework of Reference for Languages is required.
Candidates who have earned a degree taught in English or come from countries whose official language is English do not need a certificate of English language competence.
UniME students have the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ Mobility programme both for study and training. Calls are published on the site twice per year. Another opportunity for students is the UniME Funded programme “Students Around the World” (SAW) call for scholarships for study at the extra-European universities in the context of international cooperation agreements. According to your family income, there is an opportunity to apply for a scholarship from Ersu Messina office. ERSU offers to international students a variety of financial aid: scholarships, exemptions, reduction of fees and other forms of concession. ERSU scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and family economic situation. The value of the scholarship can reach up to 2,600 plus free accommodation for one year. About 30% of our past students are currently working. Most of them work in financial institutions, banks or private companies in Italy and abroad. Around 20% of them decided to continue their studies. If it is being offered for free, half or 90% of scheduled calls won’t be respected by the potential students. In addition, this fee is refundable in case you are not satisfied from the call (it could happen! but we are responsible enough to react to such situations and deal with it in a very professional way).
