The student can choose between three different curricula:
Biomedical Engineering for Neuroscience;
Innovative Technologies in Diagnostics and Therapy;
Bioengineering of Human Movement.
Curriculum I: Biomedical Engineering for Neuroscience – Neuroscience is a discipline at the cutting edge of the present scientific research. It makes largely use of advanced methods from Biomedical Engineering (such as signal and image processing, neural network models, neurorobotics) to investigate neural aspects in physiology and clinics. This curriculum provides the student with the basic knowledge and the main instruments necessary to cooperate with neuroscientists, and to work on all theoretical and practical aspects of Neuroscience in a multidisciplinary context.
Curriculum II: Innovative Technologies in Diagnostics and Therapy – Biomedical instrumentation, and diagnostic and therapeutic methods in clinics are subject to a rapid technological evolution. This curriculum provides the student with the basic knowledge and the main instruments to work on the advanced technological aspects of clinical problems (like imaging, cardiology, tissue and molecular engineering) and to design innovative methods for diagnosis and therapy.
Curriculum III: Bioengineering of Human Movement – The biomechanics of human movement is receiving increasing attention in recent years, for its important implications in many clinical and scientific domains, such as rehabilitation medicine, prosthesis design, sport medicine, age medicine. This curriculum provides the student with the basic knowledge and the main instruments necessary to work in a multidisciplinary context, where clinical and theoretical problems of human movement are addressed.
